The golden days of Autumn have arrived here in Herefordshire. We have had a great deal of warm sunny days and the colours of the changing leaves for mile after mile of beautiful tree lined roads and forests are such a stunning sight.
At The Cob many of our guests have wrapped up in bobble hats and jumpers to enjoy breakfast outside on the verandah this month. The morning sun shining on the many grasses and seed heads of the perennial garden gives a golden glow to the view.
We are pleased to be supporting Visit Herefordshire's " slow shopping" campaign, encouraging people to ditch Black Friday and enjoy some slow shopping at the many unique and independent artisan shops throughout the county. Any guest booking a stay in December and quoting SLOW SHOPPING will get a glass of mulled wine on arrival, gingerbread treats, a hand crafted tree decoration and a bunch of hand tied greenery from our garden to take home.
Hay on Wye Winter Festival begins next week which is the first time since Covid that the festival is taking place live, although you can also join in on line to many of the events.
We are looking forward to getting into the Christmas spirit next Friday when national treasure, Miriam Margolyes is switching on the Christmas lights in Hay. It will be great to meet up with friends and have a glass or two of mulled wine. Looking at the weather forecast I see that snow is forecast which really would make the evening magical.
